Wednesday Weekly Card Giveaway

Hello there crafters!  Today's giveaway is a gentle card, very subtle with a white and gold theme, but really pretty in person.  I started by embossing coconut white card with the Star Swirls embossing folder.  I rubbed Enchanted Gold gilding wax over the top of the embossing for a subtle accent.  Next, I ran dries clear glue all the way around the edge and coated it with Iced Snow and allowed it to dry.  For the focal element, I cut an oval using the Peeking Snowflake.  I added a gold edge by using the oval dies from both the Peeking Snowflake and the Lattice Snowflake die sets.  I cut several of the Jingle Bells die in white card and sprayed them with glue to stack them for dimension.  I sprayed the top of the sentiment and then sugared it with Diamond Sprinkles.  One more Jingle Bells die was cut in gold and I used it as an offset shadow, gluing it below.  I created several poinsettias for the card by cutting the Classic Poinsettia out of vellum in a variety of sizes and adding the Open petal Poinsettia cut out of white card on top.  I offset two for each flower and added a small clear Dazzler to the centres.  I arranged the larger flower on a piece of white tulle, then set the two smaller flowers in the opposite corner.  I pierced a white mat, then added a thin gold mat and another white layer to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 7 1/2" x 8 1/4" in size.  If you would like a chance to win this card, just leave me a comment and I will enter you into the drawing.  The winner will be announced on Saturday's blog post.  All for now, Sue x

Just A Note

Hi bloggers!  Today's card offering was started by covering a piece of taupe card with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I cut the Dainty Lace Edger multiple times out of milk card, peeled the backing paper off and arranged them in rows across the card.  I dipped the card into micro beads to fill in the remaining of the background, adding a nice textural look to it.  Next I cut two of the Stacked Diamond Striplets in milk card and backed them with a milk card backing.  I added them to the edges of the card with mounting foam.  Next I used the Toronto die and cut a frame.  I stamped my sentiment and placed the frame over it and added it to the centre of the card.  I stamped the Shaded Peony stamp in Coffee Archival ink and cut them out with the matching Peony die.  I did this with an assortment of sizes to create five different flowers.  I assembled the flowers and seated them across the card, adding Maidenhair fern around them as accents.  I pierced a milk mat, then added a taupe mat and another milk mat to complete the card.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x  8 1/2" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Thinking Of You

Good Sunday morning all!  I started by cutting the Canadian Background out of milk card.  I left a wide border around it and added some paper piercing to it. Next I used the inner shape from the Porto die to cut an aperture in the centre of the background before putting mounting foam on the back to raise it for dimension.  I cut two of the Elegant Lace Edgers and added them into the sides of the aperture for a little extra detail.  I selected Duck Egg blue card and backed it so that the blue showed through the cut out areas in the Canadian Background.  I added 3mm cream flatback pearls to the centres of all the decorative squares in the background.  I cut two thin frames using the inner shapes from the Portuguese collection, one in milk and one in duck egg blue.  I added some thin pieces of mounting foam and raised the frame up and placed it around the opening of the aperture.  Next I stamped Phill Martin's Decadent Damask Occasion Sayings in black on milk card and covered it with a sticky adhesive sheet.  I coated it with Diamond Snow for extra shimmer, then mounted behind my centre framed aperture.  I made two felt flowers using the Diagonal Foldover Flower die set and seated them on a piece of cream tulle.  I added Splendid Swirls and Mosaic Leaves around the flowers as accents.  I completed the card with more paper piercing of a milk card mat, a thin duck egg blue mat and one more milk mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 6 3/4" x 8 3/4" in size.

Christmas Double Days

Hello bloggers!  I have a Christmas double day for you and a sort of sneak peek for my Hochanda shows which start tonight at 8pm!  For this first card, I stamped the Twas The Night Before Christmas background using a Black Archival ink pad on to milk card.  I inked the edges lightly with Antique Linen and just a hint of Tattered Rose to warm the colour.  I used coloured pencils to colour in the poinsettias and leaves, then went back over them adding some white pencil highlights.  I used the circle die from the Mini Christmas scene background to cut an aperture in the middle of the card.  I added mounting foam to the back of the background to raise it for dimension.  I attached it to another piece of milk card where I have inked just the centre with the same distress inks.  I cut the Joy die from the Christmas Angel 2015 set in both milk card and black card.  I used the black die cut as an offset behind the milk die cut to create a shadow.  I glued them into place in the aperture opening.  I added glue to the centres of the poinsettias and added some clear micro beads for texture.  Finally, I finished the card with a milk card mat which I paper pierced, a thin black mat and a final milk mat.  The finished dimensions are 5" x  7" in size.  Scroll down for card number two.

Card number two features the Joy To The World Mini Background.  I started by creating a background to go behind my die.  I used the Wavy mask and taped it to a piece of rich red card.  I used Berry Red Sparkle Texture paste and pulled it through the mask. I did this twice, one to use for my background and a second one to cut my flowers from.   I let them both dry completely.  Next, I then cut the Joy To The World background out of both white and black card, leaving a wide border around the edge on the white one. I glued them together offsetting the black one to create a shadow for the white die cut.   I added mounting foam to the back edge and seated it over the textured red background.  I used the Classic Poinsettia die and cut six flowers out of the second sparkle texture paste piece.  I shaped the flowers and offset two per flower and added a black Dazzler to the centres.  I seated two flower in the lower corner on a piece of black tulle and added the last one in the opposite corner.  The card was then completed with a white pierced mat, a thin red and black mat and a final white mat layer.  The finished dimensions are 7" x  8 1/4" in size.

I hope you can tune in to see tonight's shows, but don't forget that I have more shows throughout the day on Saturday as well!  The show times are listed on the right hand side of my blog.  All for now, Sue x
