Celebration Shadow Box Card

Hi crafters! I love doing shadow box cards!  My goal with this video is to just give you a little bit of inspiration to start doing your own shadow box cards.  They are so much fun!

The finished dimensions are 7 1/4" x  7 1/4" in size.  All for now, Sue x

Love this card Sue, so happy and cheerful. Perfect.
Dorothy, so glad you have been able to pop back into the blog. Hooe you are coping with your hand in plaster, it is a long slow job but you are right to take care. Hope you are back to normal soon.
Donita, I soak my fruit in orange juice and alcohol fir a few days prior to making the cakes so they are very moist and rich, they wouldn't freeze well. I wrap them in foil and keep in an airtight container. I decorate them a couple of days prior to giving them. There is one for my team, one for my lovely nail technician. Maureen may get a food parcel lol. The house is filled with lovely Christmassy spicy smells during cooking. My daughters don't eat fruit cakes but my lovely sister in law does when she comes to stay at Christmas.
Little lamb, my canvas project had hessian and lace ribbon strip, lots of flowers, silk, paper, lace, satin and hessian, all themed natural colours, beads, Antiqued butterfly and MDF word Dream stained walnut and gold.
Elaine, think Trixi needs meds to make her better.
Carmen, I was in supermarket yesterday, lovely girl on till had accent, when I asked she was Canadian who moved to England when she married her Englishman. She misses her family too.
Lots of warming hugs to all, a few specially for poorly and missing friends.

Brrr what a warm happy sample to help thaw a cold frosty Tuesday morning.
I love the amount of things you can do with the Shadow Box frame alone let alone the amount of ideas there are to 'dress them up' so to speak, the amount of accessories you have given us both as a collection or with the SB die is amazing and I hope there are many more to come. To any newbies that follow this blog, these Shadow Box are a must to start with as once you've made one, it will not only bring out the addictive side of you your collection of cards will grow and people will just love them and want more as I've found out lol it's a collection I need to make lots of as I was cleaned out of my New Arrival cards on Sunday especially as I'd personalized the onesie with 'born in 2017' so many New Arrivals due before the year is over plus I'd inherited a few SB baubles in the past so they were incorporated into the smaller apatures too. The world is our oyster with these dies and personally I just adore them and so useful for quick but beautiful cards to make ☺
So I'll send my usual love and hugs your way Sue, and again thank you for your wonderful daily inspiration xxx

Shadow box cards are one of my go to cards. They can be as quick and simple or as detailed and elaborate as you want or need them to be x
All of your shadow box dies are a hit with me and I was over the moon when you gave us a square version of this brilliant 'staple' (in my opinion) x
A shadow box is the answer to any card for any occasion and gives the most amazing results. Especially when ones crafty mojo is having a holiday x
The colours you have used for this card are so perfect for anyone. Male, female, young or old. Love it x
Well I feel like a newcomer as I have been away for quite a while. Apologies for not having been here but I have been under the weather and completely lacking in energy and the ability to do anything. I am on the mend but going away for a few days to a friends as the boys have gone away for a few days to work and I am not trusted to look after myself!! Still very weak so going to be looked after by my bff x
So I know I have an awful lot to catch up on and when I come back on Friday I have the whole weekend to bring myself up to speed with current affairs. Being picked up at 8 for my 'mini break' so better get a wiggle on x
Sending happy thoughts and lots of love to everyone especially all my blog besties - I've missed you all x
Take care

Morning Sue and all Wilsonettes, I too love the shadow box cards, I have made so many of them this year using the different dies you have produced for the inserts. Also the shadow box frame can be useful for any card, we all know how Sue loves to cut things down to make a different shape, go for it ladies, you know you want too.

Pam I reiterate all you have said above, I adore Christmas cake, the spicy smells when they are cooking and then to eat them, I so miss one of my Aunties who was an absolutely fantastic cook and would make one for me every year, also a chocolate yule log, she was born in 1913 and went into service when she was 12, she made everything from scratch, never shop bought. 'Upstairs and Downstairs' is a program that reminds me of her so much. See what you have done Pam, awakened up the lovely memories for me just by mention the Christmas cakes... you thoroughly enjoy them.

Princess Pixie it is lovely to have you back on the blog, we have all missed you, take things easy, one day at a time. Oh will you be going to the royal wedding in the spring?. What a day that will be, I am so happy for Harry and Meghan.

Stay safe, healthy and happy, hugs, June Smith xxx

Morni g Sue, I love shaddow box cards, there is do much you can do with them. They are great if you are lacking inspiration because there are only small areas to fill, so much better than being confronted with a completely blank piece of card.

Dear Sue and Friendly Followers,

This card says fun, fun, fun! The primary colors are great for kids but even better for someone with a lot of candles. I think the sentiment should end with "hardly any wrinkles" or "so little cake" or "not enough firefighters."

I can see making this card as a Christmas card by changing the sentiment to Happy Birthday and spelling out Jesus.

Today my Tool in One lost all the bristles on its roller. Now it's just a pokey tool. I've been using a hairbrush to bang out the bits, then the pokey tool for the itty-bitty bits. Works pretty well.

Thank you, Diane Green and Pam for filling me in on what a Christmas cake is. Yours sound rich and delicious. Fruitcakes are the brunt of jokes in the U.S., about how everybody regifts fruitcakes, so they are mailed back and forth across the country, year after year, and never get eaten. They're usually dry, flavorless, and have odd candied fruits in them that just taste strange, not exotic and not the least bit yummy. Is there a difference between a British Christmas cake and an American fruitcake? And Pam, did you batch make your cakes, or do them one at a time, start to finish?

Glad you're back, Dorothy Macdonald. How wonderful that you enjoyed hours of catching up with surprising new card designs. People with a broken bone talk about how much they're bothered by an itch they can't scratch under the plaster, but it's another thing entirely to itch to make cards and not be able to satisfy it.

Soon enough. When you get your hands back, I hope they'll be good as new.

And welcome back to you too, Princess Pixie. How nice to have a friend who will look after you while giving you a getaway. I hope you enjoy some lovely naps while you're there. And I hope she does, too.

Crewe Trish, something tells me Santa has just the thing tucked away for you that your Mother will appreciate on her card.

Have a nice Tuesday everybody, and keep your envelopes dry.

Love,
Donita

Hi Sue. Unfortunately, this card would be quite appropriate for me these days. I don't know whether you would have seen an item on the UK news where 101 year old twins celebrated their birthday with a cake each with 101 candles on them (quite a fire hazard). This card would have been great for them.

June - I used to really enjoy Upstairs Downstairs too. At the moment I'm watching the re-run of the Duchess of Duke Street which I also love. They show 3 episodes on Saturdays on Drama but unfortunately the series must be nearly coming to an end I would think.

Talking about party ... Happy birthday Heather!Hope you had a lovely day.
Pam - Your cakes sound so delicious. Hope Maureen will share her piece of cake with me :).
Dorothy-So sorry for you. Take it slowly and don't try to use that hand. Do you know what can be worse than one hand in plaster? To have both hands in plasters like one of friends. She broke both wrists 2 1/2 months ago; had surgeries a week after accident...long way to recover.
PP - Nice to see you back.Sending gentle hugs your way.
Tres - Hope tomorrow will be a better day day for you.
Maureen - We had news on Canadian TV about Price Harry and Megan starting on Friday when they said that looks like these two got engaged. All day yesterday was about them, in competition with The 105th Grey Cup, the other highlight of the day for Torontonians. We had more news about these two events today.
